Overseas Chinese Hearts Turn to the Nation, Jointly Promoting Reunification – China-Cyprus Cultural and Tourism Association Holds Symposium on Peaceful Reunification

 On the occasion of the establishment of the Cyprus Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China, the China-Cyprus Cultural and Tourism Association solemnly held a symposium on the theme of peaceful reunification at the activity center. With the core theme of "deepening patriotism, building consensus among overseas Chinese, and jointly promoting the peaceful reunification of the motherland," this event is not only a concrete practice in response to the national call, but also a vivid portrayal of overseas Chinese's deep concern for their homeland and their commitment to national righteousness.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Zhao of the China-Cyprus Cultural and Tourism Association delivered a speech, conveying in depth the core spirit and strategic deployment of the founding meeting of the Cyprus Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China. He clearly explained the Association's fundamental purpose of "adhering to the one-China principle, promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, and promoting the complete reunification of the motherland," as well as the historical mission of overseas Chinese communities in the new era. This further strengthened the belief and direction of all participants in promoting the reunification of the motherland.

Chinese Classics teacher Wen Peng delivered a keynote speech entitled "The Situation Across the Taiwan Strait and the Historical Inevitability of Peaceful Reunification." His speech, grounded in historical depth and an international perspective, delved into the complex background of the Taiwan Strait issue, examining Japan's national character of "fearing power but not virtue," the "imperial comprador" nature of the Nationalist government, and the historical origins of pro-Japanese and pro-American sentiments in Taiwan. He also combined this with the achievements of the People's Republic of China's development, its independent and peaceful foreign policy, and the steady improvement of its comprehensive national strength, powerfully demonstrating that the complete reunification of the motherland is an unstoppable historical trend—not only the core interest of the Chinese nation but also an inevitable choice that conforms to the historical trend and aligns with the fundamental aspirations of all Chinese people. In closing, Mr. Wen Peng called upon every Chinese citizen to internalize patriotism and put it into practice, always upholding the one-China principle and adhering to the fundamental position that "national interests are above all else," contributing to the great cause of national reunification through concrete actions.

During the discussion and exchange session, the overseas Chinese participants actively spoke and expressed their thoughts. They unanimously agreed that overseas Chinese are an important bridge connecting China and the world, facing both diverse Western ideologies and public opinion environments, and shouldering the special mission of "telling the story of China well, disseminating historical truth, and enhancing the international community's understanding and support for China's reunification cause." As members of the Chinese nation, overseas Chinese should proactively speak out and take action, using objective facts to dispel false narratives, and using national sentiment to build international consensus, so that more people can understand China's firm pursuit of peaceful reunification and its historical responsibility.
